Barolo DOCG Balena 2014 Edizione Limitata - Michele Chiarlo

Michele Chiarlo

At sight it has a beautiful garnet red color. The range of aromas offered to the nose spreads over notes of red fruit, wisteria, lilac, mint, juniper and assorted spices. On the palate it is elegant, fine, velvety thanks to a soft tannin. It closes with a long finish, characterized by a slightly spicy aftertaste.

The Barolo Balena project is dedicated to nature and its infinite turning, to the continuous process of transformation and creation that undoubtedly unravels and recomposes in the incessant astonishment. The Barolo protagonist of the story is that of the Michele Chiarlo winery, a prestigious wine known throughout the world. It all begins in the vineyards of Michele Chiarlo and the remains of a whale's skeleton found just by the family in the autumn of 1993 and now preserved in the Paleontological Museum of Asti. This is in fact the story of a whale that turns into hills and finally into barolo. The magic of the Piedmontese terroir, with all its facets and characteristics, is revived in the Michele Chiarlo branded products. Tradition, classicism and balance are the three most suitable words to describe this Barolo DOCG, in which the elegance and softness typical of these vineyards give life to a bottle already enjoyable right now. The grapes undergo a long fermentation, then mature for two years in the classic large barrels and for a year in glass. A treat not to be missed! Produced in a limited edition of only 1500 bottles, the special label contains the land of the vineyards.
