The Masseto is a huge and very prestigious territorial expression of the Merlot of the Bolgheri area, a star in the world wine scene. The fruity scents are harmoniously intertwined with notes of vanilla and cocoa, while the taste is a hymn to balance, a perfect combination of power and refinement, freshness and envelopment, with an endless ending.
The "Masseto" comes from a single vineyard: only six hectares, where passion and dedication unite with talent and skill, to give life to the highest excellence, the result of an obsession for every little detail , and daughter of a terroir so suited to the cultivation of the vine. Then the Ornellaia Estate, the flagship of what is the Bordeaux blend par excellence, undisputed queen of the Bolgheri area. Two brands, now famous throughout the world: two absolute musts, conceived on parallel but currently very distinct roads, which for years now have been traveling independently, towards a future that looks more than rosy. A rosy future, but at the same time a past that for about two decades has indissolubly traveled on the same track. It was in 1981 that the Marquis Lodovico Antinori, cousin of Piero Antinori, founded the Tenuta dell'Ornellaia, in the heart of the Bolgheri area. With the first harvest of 1985 was born what would become an icon among the SuperTuscans: the Ornellaia, put on the market three years later, in 1988. After the inauguration of the winery, the world-famous enologist - Michel Rolland - begins to take care of the technical part of the cellar. In the 90s the other two labels were born, "Le Volte" and "Le Serre Nuove". At the beginning of 2000, Robert Mondavi, the great Californian producer, acquires the Estate, selling 50% to Marchesi de 'Frescobaldi, who will buy the other 50% only three years later. The end of the 2000s also saw the birth of the "Poggio alle Gazze" label and of the highly selected late harvest wine "Ornus", from petit manseng in purity. A mythical winery, which wrote the history of Bolgheri.

Intense and dense ruby color. Hints of dark and red fruit (plums, sour cherries), spices, tobacco, medicinal herbs and violets. In the mouth it is broad, long, with good acidity and well integrated tannins, with a mineral vein to complete the sip.
Intense ruby red color; the nose is complex with red fruits, plum, balsamic hints and vanilla notes. In the mouth the entry is firm but elegant, with sweet tannins and balanced acidity. The finish is long with excellent persistence. It is the "grand vin" of Brolio.
Delicate ruby red color. Complex nose, elegant, subtle and persistent. Aromas of violets, iris, mature red fruits and pepper, with notes of white chocolate. Velvety mouthfeel, full and warm, slightly savory, with soft tannins. Long and persistent aftertaste, expressing all the personality of...
Ruby red color. Intense and persistent bouquet, ample and ethereal. Various fragrances, from small fruits to jam and undergrowth. The taste is harmonious and elegant. Intense tannins but sculpted by a long aging process.
Complex and elegant, it takes time to discover all its facets. Notes of raspberry and cherry with herbs, cedar wood, raisins, ginger and mint. Rich and full but at the same time bright, with notes of wild berries perfectly balanced by a juicy acidity and silky tannins. Unique expression of...
Extremely complex wine with a ruby red color. The nose is pure fun, the small red and black fruits, the pepper, the ethereal puffs of paint. In the mouth it is direct and elegant, the tannin is present and integrated, less broad than the classic syrah but more tapered.
Deep garnet red, vinous and intense. The nose underlines with great varietal impact all its potential, ranging from red fruits to the undergrowth, from tobacco to chocolate, in continuous evolution over time. On the palate it is compact, of infinite power but of great balance.
The particularly dark and young color is the prelude to a complex aroma of blueberries, spices and cedar. On the palate it appears rich and dense, balanced by a refined and solid tannic structure, enlivened by a juicy and brilliant acidity.
